Oh the Schadenfreude. Mark and his friends have found out that the DHS think that their rightist ideology may be extremist, and could lead to or inspire violence and they are all het up. Mark even fantasises about DHS agent surrounding his house (Mark, you'll be deported well before that). This has caused a serious outbreak of WAAAAAA! and the boys and girls are throwing their toys out of the pram like only right wing saddoes know how. Funny, I don't remember them whining so much when this legislation was put in place, in fact, I think they were calling anyone that opposed it a traitor? Mark and his pals stunning lack of self awareness is actually quite amusing.

Doesn't feel so good now, tossers....

Bonus commment. The report, while fairly dryly written contains a fair modicum of truth, as Dave Neiwart, over at Orcinus has been detailing for a while. Why it comes to political violence, the Right has some previous.

Well, Mark on Hugh's show, but this time being interviewed by someone who doesn't sound like he is drunk and outraged every minute of the day. I didn't catch his name, but it doesn't matter anyway. They kick off with some ramble about how poor old Mark can't sleep with the worry of what that Obama is going to do, and mark proves his highly attuned political acumane by indulging in a bit a bit of bar-room chit chat disguised as serious discussion about politics, to wit:

..... I think essentially rich people and poor people voted for Obama. The middle classes went to McCain. And the rich people essentially got suckered....

Oh yeah, so its a revolution then. See, clever old Mark, its not just demographics he makes up shit about, its voting patterns too.

And I think his priority is to make sure that people feel sufficiently insecure that they’ll go along with this big nanny state apparatus.

Oh, so its all in our imagination then. But really, its not really Bush's fault....

This [the credit crunch] happened at the very last couple of months of George W. Bush’s watch, and so from Obama’s point of view, the point at which it becomes the Obama economy is the point at which things change.

He, what he is proposing is the transformation of the United States into the same kind of policies that have mired the European Union in economic stagnation.

I've mentioned the Islamification of Russia in America Alone and NR, but it seems to be getting a wee bit more attention, even from governments. [snip]

Muslims are changing Russia's demographic composition, posing a major challenge to the country's domestic politics and internal stability, says Finland's Defense Ministry in its report Meeting The Challenges In Russia.

The last 20 years have seen major demographic changes in Russia. At the beginning of the 1990s, there were 149 million people in Russia. By 2007 the figure was seven million less. The population is falling by around 400,000 per year.

But the situation is very different in parts of the country with a Muslim majority. There the population is growing, and, for example, male life expectancy is significantly higher than in ethnic Russian areas. If demographic trends continue in the same way, by 2015 the majority of Russian army conscripts will be Muslims. By 2020 20 per cent of all Russians will be Muslims. And three decades later they will be the largest part of the Russian population.

Since the Soviet Union broke up, the self-esteem and identity of Russia’s 20 million Muslims has intensified. In 1991 there were 300 mosques in the country. Now there are already over 8000. Most new mosques have been financed from abroad, by Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

There are now estimated to be about 60 Islamic schools in Russia, with some 50,000 pupils. There was not one Islamic school in 1991.

Aside from putting the mosque in Moscow, on the international scene Russia is already an observer-member of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. There's an alliance to look forward to.

And he hat tips Gates of Vienna, a bigger collection of sad, racist, wierdos you would struggle to find. If you reduced to that level, i would take a long hard look at myself.

But the problem is, again with the dodgy statistics and projection. Just because the growth in Muslims is at that level now, doesn't mean it is going to be the same in 2050. What a nob.

Mark Steyn is on Hewitt, whining on and on and on about Obama. Lots to report, but this little nugget was worth quoting on its own:

Health care is going to be his Great Society. Health care to me fundamentally transforms the relationship between the citizen and the state into something closer to one of junky and pusher.

Whatever happened to Mark in the old NHS? Whatever it was, he remains bitter.

Of course, that's because this is Canada. If I were a "high class" NY call girl, I'd have banked US$1-million in mp3 downloads of my "music" by now. The Great White North equivalent would be, like, guys sending me Canadian Tire money through the mail in exchange for homemade tapes of me squealing along to Joan Jett karaoke tracks. One thing's for certain, though: I will never be able to get a "real" job again. Nobody's HR department is gonna bother investigating the context of my "offensive" remarks and my "ransom note 'racism'". And if they did, they'd find my elaborated views beyond the liberal Canadian establishment pale. And I probably didn't want to work there anyway. But I still have a mortgage and that. And I'm still being sued. And that pink short barrel shotgun I've got my eye on ain't cheap...

So he won

Well, whoop-de-do, Brave mark Steyn's battle against the jack-booted Canadian Human Rights Commission is over and he won, kind off:

On Friday at 12 noon Pacific Kangaroo Time, the British Columbia "Human Rights" Tribunal dismissed El-Mo's complaint against Maclean's and voted unanimously to acquit the hatemonger

While the original prosecution was a bit jack-assed, and seems to based on a rather loose premise, its still good to see Steyn and his fellow travelers dragged through the mud and made to answer for their racist bollocks. The only thing they seem to be able to come up with is WAAAAA, and Kathie the Bigot releasing a new book!! (who is backing her???), hilariously called "The Tyranny of Nice". (no really)

However, even though he is found not guilty (and judging by the tone of his supporters, you would think this verdict is similar to the impact of Roe vrs Wade), the commission still found his book and views dumb in the extreme. I suppose we can allow Mark & his ilk to be ignorant to the point of stupidity has its merits.

So accentuate the positive, at least by winning this case, we will perhaps hear a lot less about Mark's & Kathie's Winstonian struggle. No martyrdom for yous.

Financial Crisis - Blacks to blame

Its official, the cause of the meltdown in the financial markets is, yes, you guessed it, the kaffers. Mark Steyn dons his pointy white hat and explains:

What we’re dealing with here is effectively an absurd situation where the United States legislators decided that credit had a racist concept, and so enough credit was not being given to certain types of people, so they encouraged lending institutions to abandon any standards and throw money at people who shouldn’t have been getting into the home ownership business in the first place, or at least not at that stage in their life. And as a result, sub-prime mortgages went from 2% of the market in 2002 to 30% of the market in 2006.

Even Hugh is too embarrassed to call him on it, and changes the subject rapidly.
